Harriet G. Oberman, CPA, CGMA, did not set out to be an accountant, but she was destined for it. She started out in biology because of her love for science, but shortly thereafter realized that numbers and finance were her true passion. Today, she has combined her interest in healthcare and her passion for finance as the firm’s Healthcare Industry leader. As the leader and partner, she works closely with physicians, dentists and other healthcare professionals, as well as closely held businesses, to assist them with their accounting, financial statement preparation, planning, tax and consulting needs.

Harriet started her career at Amgen, where she served as director of finance at the publicly traded biotechnology giant. She provided strategic, financial and operational leadership to its Global Development organization, and implemented initiatives for a $1.4 billion annual budget. Her executive assignments included managing the operating budget in 16 countries.

After 13 years at Amgen, Harriet went into public accounting so she could dedicate herself to advising business owners and healthcare professionals on how to better run their businesses. Bringing her global perspective and experience to her clients, she looks beyond just the tax return or financial statements. She advises her clients on the metrics that run their business and helps them Manage or oversee their financial situation. She helps them put together the “financial puzzle.”

Harriet received a Bachelor of Science from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, with a major in biology and minor in mathematics. She earned a MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Harriet is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license and the Chartered Global Management Accounting (CGMA) designation.

When she’s not working, you can usually find Harriet trekking the globe. She’s a world traveler who has lived in England and most recently she visited Japan. She has two boys and spends a lot of time on the soccer and lacrosse fields with her husband cheering them on.
